My room was somewhat dark. I couldn’t actually see the volcanos but the gorgeous garden made up for it

"The villa was beautiful with great views and the location is super quiet in the middle of the jungle. If you do not have your own car there is an option of taxis arranged by the hotel staff to take you to town. The staff were amazing, booked all our tours which you will get cheaper than when booking with tour companies and the guides were great. Beds were also super comfortable."

"It was a very nice and quiet remote hotel surrounded by nature. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. They ordered us food. The breakfast was very good. The rooms were clean."

The shower had an instantaneous water heater, which was very difficult to regulate the water temperature. It was either too hot or too cool.

"This is not a standard hotel or gite or whatever, this is a special place. Expect no luxury here, this is not what Karims guesthouse is about. It is about being in a small village and in nature. Basically, this is as close to a home stay as you can book on Booking. You can choose a room or the stilted house (recommended) in a garden full of interesting plants. Your water comes from a well or the river, your coffee directly from the bushes around you, and the food from...actually I don't know where, but it is amazing. One of the Kpime waterfalls is just a short, but nice walk away, and you can roam the village or take a long walk to Yikpa waterfall (~4 h one way). And when you come back, you lay in a hammock with a fresh and local cocoa or sit in the garden. And the best, you don't need to be in Kpalime, with all the chaos, noise, and smells. Although it is something different, I really enjoyed my stay. Karim is a fantastic host and La montagne verde exactly my type of stay."

Just be aware what you are booking, and there is nothing negative about it.

"Value for money. Clean and comfortable. Smart tv and good wifi. Well equipped kitchen. Location to town good."

No fault of property but local drains were smelling. Would benefit from a washing machine.

"A real true experience to stay with a local family. Support them please! And their food is just more than good! Fresh juices..fresh fruit...very flavourful creative main meals."

Do not go here if you expect a luxury lodge. Go here for an experience!

A small table or something to sit at would be nice in case you want to play cards, etc.

"The room we stayed in was very spacious, the kitchen was well-equipped, and the accommodation was clean and modern. There were also a lot of facilities available in the garden, like a grill and outdoor seating, which we did not get to use because of our short stay. Additionally, the owners were very friendly."

It is a little bit away from the town, but that is no problem if you have a car, which you can park for free at the property.

"The staff were friendly and welcoming. The food at the restaurant was lovely. The breakfast that you get in the morning was tasty and a large portion. 2 cute little dogs running around on the farm. Cows grazing outside your door."

For summer months, a fan would be ideal in the room.

"Don't be fooled by the name 'Pension'. The unit is large, clean and has a lovely balcony. With the sofa bed turned down, it felt like a two bedroom apartment. And we appreciate the fact that the sofa bed was already made up and ready to sleep in. Thanks for that!"

"The host was great we took the food option and the food was really good-we didn't realise our host was going to cook onsite. We had a really enjoyable evening in conversation with our host.nice areas to sit outside and to walk around small farm."

It needs a bit of work to give visual appeal outside as is in fact one accomodation unit only but comfortable inside. Also beware if you take meal option (recommend) then beware it will be prepared in the kitchen of your accomodation.

"Our stay at Steigenberger was very pleasant, the same day we started with a spa treatment - the Pharaoh bath, we got a special deal two for one. We had 3 massage therapists who took care of us💆‍♀️Higly recommending it! But let's get back to the beginning, we got welcomed by Ahmed, who gave us a beautiful room with a balcony facing the Nile. For many a dream come true.. You will be welcomed wih a refreshing cold hibiscus tea. The breakfast buffet there has a huge selection and in the evening you can also have a dinner buffet with a view to the Nile if you sit outside. There are two pools, gym, some stores with souvenirs around the hotel and even a swing to take a beautiful sunset picture with a view to the Nile. Thank you Ahmed for your assistance, we felt very welcome thanks to you. 💯☺️"

The surrounding area is poor, but don't be scared, the locals are welcoming and kind. Sometimes you have to be patient so order your breakfast early if you have an adventure day planned.

The beds were very comfy - haven’t slept so well for a long time. Having to walk a couple of steps outside to get to the bathroom and to get water added to the nostalgia - this was what cabins were like in my childhood. However, here you get a modern toilet and a shower in a nice warm bathroom. We did not have that luxury. The small museum was very interesting. The host was nice and inviting and he has a lot of knowledge of the past and present in the area. There are possibilities of renting kayaks- and canoes not far from the property. Unfortunately we only stayed for one night this time. But we most certainly will be back to explore the lake and the surroundings."

"Very nice and simple apartment, it had all the essentials. The area was very lovely and nice. The host was very nice and helpful, we had the cooked dinner by her and the fish was very tasty!"

I think it could have been a little bit cleaner, like the bath matts being clean, but otherwise it was totally fine.

"Nice place with a few cottages. There is a place to sit outside, grill etc We stayed in the room for 3 people, it was clean. Nice place to spend holiday, no issues. Beach is approx. 1,5 km (there is one closer, but not very nice beach)"

I think that all negatives are already mentioned in the previous reviews, but: - water smells (however my husband drunk it and had no issues) - kitchen could be more equipped (at least something for drying of dishes would be nice) - darker courtains will be nice, i saw light from opposite cottage all night

"This stay was the best thing in our trip. For real! Firs of all - the host Ali. Most amazing person ever. We were so happy to meet him, gave a lot of tips and advices what to see nearby. Also did hike with him - without Ali it would be impossible to complete, but most amazing hike ever!!! And hey people, this is not a luxury villa, but its an experience, this is how you feel this country. Outside fireplace with a lot of stars in a sky, goats sounds in the morning and peace. Also jebel shams canyon is very near. When I come back to Oman, would definitely stay here again!"
