"Vse je bilo perfektno. Daleč najboljša nastanitev na najinem 15 dnevnem krožnem potovanju po Islandiji. To pove vse, a naj še posebej izpostavim izjemne zajtrke v čudovitem ambientu, vroče termalne kopeli na terasi po napornem dnevu, in nenazadnje pristno prijaznost in toplino gostiteljev, ki bi za gosta naredila vse. Tam sva ostala tri noči, a bi z veseljem še malce podaljšala najino bivanje v prelepi Asar Guesthouse. Nekoč, v prihodnosti bi si želela vrniti. Velika hvala za vse Hrefna in Arni. Upam, da se vidimo v Sloveniji!"

Hrefna and Árni are passionated hosts, hopening the doors of their house (and their kitchen) to procure a genuine and warm hospitality, interesting talks and georgous breakfast and dinner. Rather than going from hotel to hotel, consider the Asar Guesthouse as an ideal base while exploring the region over a few days. We should be back there for sure !"

"The accommodation is a marvel, a luxury located next to Akureyri, the location is superb. Hrefna, the hostess, is charming and is super attentive that guests are happy. She makes breakfast daily and everything is homemade, I think it is one of the best I have ever tasted. There was one day that we could not enjoy it because we had an excursion and Hrefna prepared it for us to take away with us. Everything is very clean and the accommodation has a hot tub. We could also leave the car in front of the house. Regarding the decoration I must say that it is magnificent, it is a very cozy accommodation and the quality of the beds is very good. All in all, top marks to Hrefna, her husband (who is also very charming) as well as to the accomodation."

"It’s our second time at Ásar - We have the most wonderful time at this guesthouse. The room was spotlessly clean, warm, and incredibly comfortable — exactly what you need after a day of exploring Iceland’s rugged beauty. The hosts were absolutely fantastic and truly couldn’t do enough for us — warm, welcoming, and full of great local tips. They even asked if we wanted the hot tub filling for our return after long days. The lounge spaces are inviting, comfortable and decorated with care. Breakfast each morning was fresh, generous, and delicious — easily one of the best we’ve had while traveling. Homemade, granola, breads and cakes are a real treat. And the hot tub was wonderful, it was speck free of the tiniest debris, which in itself is an achievement. This place feels more like staying with thoughtful friends than just a guesthouse. Can’t recommend it highly enough — we’ll definitely be back! We love it, it will become our ‘go to’ if we’re in the area."
