Dating back to 1438, the historic Cathedral Gate is in the heart of Canterbury. Once slept in by pilgrims, the butični hotel predates the adjoining gateway to Canterbury Cathedral and features wooden beams and sloping floors. "Lovely Hotel in an ancient building right in the heart of the City. Lovely staff, good facilities, quite a lot of steps and stairs to reach rooms but we felt very happy with everything. Breakfast excellent & fresh brewed coffee. Next door to a good fish & chips cafe."

Ancient building, very higgledy piggledy but spotlessly clean and all facilities clean and up to date. Excellent breakfast included with everything fresh. Was advised of an even older pub nearby and enjoyed my evening meal with a local beer there. All affordable and all spot on."
