"Right from the start we were welcomed with such warmth. You do not feel in an hotel but in their private home. The food served was plentiful and delicious. Belinda is a very accomplished chef. Lee is the perfect balance to her. He is such an historian and very very knowledgeable about their chateau. Actually they have both led such full lives before reaching the chateau they are the perfect couple to be perfect hosts. The pool is fantastic. We had an amazing stay can recommend a 100% The ambiance of being in a medieval chateau is genuinely unique. It’s something that can’t be conjured up."
"Our only comment would be, perhaps a thicker mattress topper would be good. I have had a kidney removed so for me I sleep better on one. Having said that my husband slept like a baby ."

"A very warm welcome received on our arrival. Very comfortable and all you could need for an amazing self catering stay at Chateaux Mareuil. Fabulous swimming pool to swim and chill. Belinda and Lee such perfect hosts. History tour amazingly carried out by Lee with such knowledge. Sumptuous dinner provided by Belinda. A highly recommended stay, one not to be missed."

"Everything, Belinda & Lee were so friendly and welcoming, nothing was too much trouble. The studio was well equipped and comfortable. Lee gave us a tour of the Chateau, we were blown away by the beautiful and authentic renovations they’ve done and the history of the place. The surroundings are pure tranquility and a perfect night sky! Breakfast was lovely and fresh items from the Boulangerie were a real treat! The effort they both put in really shows and we would return in a heartbeat, thank you! Rachael, Chris & Georgie."

"More hooks in the bathroom would help, as would a larger hand basin, and there was nowhere to hang clothes, or any drawer unit for clothes. We visited during a very hot spell, and a washing line would have helped us dry any wet clothes from pool or washing."
"Lee & Belinda were fantastic hosts nothing was too much trouble. Belinda's food both Breakfast and evening meal were both excellent. the swimming pool was lovely and well maintained. The history of the property is very well maintained giving a real medieval castle experience. The main chateau rooms are large and medical style .Bathrooms are very clean and upto date."

"On the third day of our long sea and road journey from Volos, Greece to Reading, England, we spent our evening/night at hotel "Au coucou" in Pulversheim, a mere 12 km from Mulhouse. The hotel provides for a back to memory lane atmosphere as well as a warm accommodation. It is very rare nowadays in this era of multinational hotel chains to be met, after a day-long 800 km drive, at the hotel doorstep by its owner, the cheerful Madame Cierocki. The clean bedroom and its large en-suite bathroom provided for a super quite night. The "L'envie" restaurant managed by an experienced chef in the person of the hotel owner's son allowed us to enjoy the very best of French cuisine. A delicious breakfast was arranged by Ms Cierocki at 7 am. We will definitely come back."

"The location was great, views of the river were lovely and the appartment was clean and comfortable with everything needed. The photos on the web don’t do it justice, it’s much nicer. Lots of walks and interesting buildings to see and plenty of good places to eat very close by. Valerie our host was very helpful when we had difficulty connecting to the internet and with her help the problem was easily solved."
