"Staying with Maximus at Seabay Resort was a true delight. It’s not luxury in the European way, but the kind of luxury that really matters: peace, simplicity, and genuine care. Our apartment was spotless and comfortable, with a balcony overlooking the endless sea and direct access to the beach. Every morning, Maximus spoiled us with a delicious Sri Lankan breakfast. The beach feels untouched and wonderfully quiet, and just a short walk away there’s a calm bay perfect for swimming. With the Pick Me app, getting around—even from the airport—is easy and affordable. A hidden gem for anyone seeking tranquility, warmth, and authenticity."

"To start with, the location is not only excellent (right in the middle of historical Viterbo, walking distance to most things), but you also have parking inside (and space for normal-sized cars too), which can be a life saver when travelling by car. Nice (and very clean) room, and for a very reasonable price (have been to city accommodations half as good for twice the price). Also provided disposable indoor slippers, which is instantly a +1. Lastly, can mention that the owner also has a nearby restaurant (c. 2min walk), called La Chimera, which I can strongly recommend. The host cannot speak much English, but make it up through effort and enthusiasm, so you will still understand in the end (with or without Google translate). Breakfast was ok, but almost only sweets, so some less sugary stuff as well could be good. Some of the toiletries just lasted, so not a big issue, but if providing more then would not have to ration. Can also be a bit difficult to find (more so since some streets are currently closed-off due to construction).

"Sehr freundlicher Empfang. Kleines praktisches Zimmer mit kleinem Badezimmer(chen) zu einem angemessenen Preis. Bei Buchung wurde auf das kleine Badezimmer hingewiesen. Sehr bequemes Bett mit offenen Bettende und guter Matratze. Sehr ruhig. Frühstück mit verschiedener Wurst, Käse und Marmeladen und Gebäck. Vermieterin sehr hilfsbereit und freundlich."

Das kleine Badezimmer(chen) ist wirklich sehr klein. Ist aber kein Kritikpunkt, weil es wurde bei der Buchung schon drauf hingewiesen.

"Incredibly beautiful lodge close to the lake and in a very secluded location. The road is long and bumpy to get there, but that just adds to the charm! Rooms and facilities are lovely and comfortable. And staff is incredibile!"

"Accomodation with history. The room was very nice and cozy. The owner was very nice, she cooked breakfast and dinner for us and it was possible to buy water there. When I was sick she made me tea and snack which I could take to the room. We had no car and they took us to Mavrovo. We really appreciate this! The location is also very good - near to Medenica and near to horse farm."

There was a group that arrived without booking and there was not enough food, so the host had to go shopping and the dinner was late. There was enough food for everyone but not much variety for warm dishes, comparing with other guesthouses on the trail. The guesthouse is located off the main trail and the trail is a bit tricky.

"Rose and the rest of the staff - they couldn’t do more to help and to make our stay the best! The place is in lovely old-style buildings with beautifully furnished rooms in a peaceful location. We loved the short cycle on complementary bikes to West Bay for the sunsets."

"My second time staying at the wonderful St. James Guesthouse. Returned back after 3 years, and it was even more wonderful than what I remembered. The owner along with all of the employees are absolutely lovely. You truly feel at home with a lovely family like atmosphere. The rooms are authentic and have exactly what you need. Enjoyed having Netflix on the TV along with Aircondition in the room. Breakfast was delicious with great additional options you pay a cheap price for. Location is the best in Roseau, next to a car rental, walkable distance to everything (Ferry terminal, Markets, Restaurants/bars, Local busses to Portsmouth or Trafalgar). Cannot recommend this place and the employees enough. One of the many gems in Dominica! Thanks to the team once again 🙏"

My only complaint is about the bed… it was hanging in the middle and was really noise. Needs a new bed.

Their is nothing i can assume to be bad. Everything was above my expectations. Everyone should try it at least. No one will say that they found something bad on this hotel.

"Steve & Geri are terrific hosts, and the kind of people you want to meet when you’re travelling. They were very welcoming and accommodating, and fun to talk to. The B&B location is both convenient for arrivals, and well-placed for a walk along the southern coast beaches. The decor of the room is also well-suited to provide character. Enjoyed the breakfast."

"We stayed here in September after walking the Arctic circle trail. We were faster than expected, so we contacted the owner as soon as we arrived in town. He immediatly told us we could stay at the house and came to pick us up in 10min to bring us there. It is a bedroom in his home and he immediately made us feel very welcome. We had space in the fridge, the entire kitchen available and we were allowed to use the washing machine to clean all our stuff. The WiFi was also excellent. The host was very friendly and taught us lots about Greenland, Inuit culture and history and the surrounding area. He also offered to take us on a boat trip to the ghost village (at a much better rate than any other provider). All in all a great place to stay!"

As we were staying in someone's home and not a hotel, the place wasnt absolutely spotless, but it was clean and homey. It might not be to everybody's taste to share a bathroom with a family though.

It is a bit out of the town but ok if you have a car. If there are many guests you will have to queue to use the shower room and toilet as it is a shared Barth room property.

"A late evening arrival at the airport so I wanted somewhere close to get much-needed sleep before joining an organised group the next day. This was perfect, and Emilie a great host who picked me up from the airport (for a small fee)."

"Location is ok, 10 minutes walk to Somerset MRT station. Cleanness was ok, not spotted but acceptable. Air conditioning worked well. As the cheapest private room with private bathroom in the whole city this place is worth its price. Good contact with owner via whatsapp. I would come back."

The owner does not treat this place like a hotel, so for example, toilet paper is replaced by the guests themselves.
