She gave us directions on how to get to the train station and even prepared sandwiches for our trip, since we had to check out before the official breakfast. The room was very clean and comfortable. "Halvat Guesthouse is a boutique hotel in an unbeatable location, right in the heart of Sarajevo. Just a two-minute walk from the old city square, with the option of reasonably priced, guarded parking nearby, and situated on the flat part of town (unlike many hilly areas of old Sarajevo), its position couldn't be better. The beds are comfortable, the bathroom is decent, the rooms are air-conditioned, and everything is impeccably clean and tidy. But the true soul of this place is its warm and gracious hostess, Valida. She will make you feel genuinely welcome, and if you're staying for a few days, even a cheerful conversation with her will let you feel the true heart of this extraordinary city and its rich, tumultuous history. Unique and unmatched in my experience."
